Vardan Oskanyan gets angry in NA

PAP member, former MFA vardan Oskanyan’s speech at NA special session:
“Respectable Government,
First of all I want to bow my head in memory of Gurgen Margaryan and pay tribute to his relatives. We all were shocked and angry with murderer’s extradition to Azerbaijan. Image pain and sorrow of Margaryan’s relatives, when a felon, which axed their offspring is in freedom in his country.”
“Firstly, let’s have the courage to confess and register, that one of the reasons of our anger and disappointment is Government’s inaction and flaw. It’s unacceptable and incomprehensible, that security and rights defender of our nation – Armenia’s Government, learns about this after felon arrives in Azerbaijan. It’s inexplicable, that nothing has been undertaken by our agencies after the alarms of Hungarian community and Armenia’s organizations. It’s inexplicable and unacceptable, that our state agencies weren’t consistent in this issue and didn’t learn first, that Hungary makes such a deal with Azerbaijan.”
I have no doubt everything which has been undertaken by us was done two weeks ago, Safarov would be in his cell.
What Hungary did concerning Ramil Safarov is disgusting in ethical and legal aspects. From moral side they had to consult with Armenia, not speaking of Armenia-Hungary friendship, existence of Armenian community and Armenians investments in liberation struggle.
From legal side Hungary violated European Convention on extradition, knowing full well that Safarov wouldn’t serve his sentence in Azerbaijan, as it was defined by convention.
I don’t even want to speak about Azerbaijan. They just showed the world their real faces, something that we all knew before.
Today we have what we have. The biggest lesson for us is the fact that such surprises can occur also in the future. They can be more fatal for our country and our nation, thus since this moment everything should be done to exclude such surprises.
We should be able to give our assessment on the current situation. I think, in case of right actions we can register diplomatic success. It’s the right moment, by making use of the moment from reservation of Nagorno-Karabakh's right to self-determination to international reservation of the fact of being self-determined.
This general formulation supposes detailed programming, ideological basis, diplomatic mind and comprehensive activity by comparing active and harmonic steps of Armenia’s executive, legislative bodies and social organizations, as well as of Diaspora lobby organizations. For the productivity of this we also need inner peace, political healthy atmosphere and predominance of democratic values.
It’s high time for united and courageous steps.
