Azerbaijani professor: Ramil Safarov’s extradition and pardon was unacceptable

Azerbaijani professor, Azerbaijan’s Academy of Sciences researcher Rahman Badalov touched upon Ramil Safarov’s extradition and pardon on Kultura.az website, specifically stating, that “Ramil Safarov’s extradition would have been acceptable if not Azerbaijan’s state agencies’ following steps (red carpet in the airport, giving a military rank and etc). So, pardon was transferred into resuscitation, which is unacceptable, as we’re talking about crime, which has been proved at the trial.”
The Azeri Professor also stated, that Ramil Safarov not only committed an indirect crime, but also passed the limit of the officer’s honor and dignity. At all times even at the oldest ones, there were some military ethics rules, violation of which was considered a shame. It’s necessary to call things by their names: axing a sleeping man, moreover an officer is inappropriate for each person, and such an action demands decisive condemnation irrespective of the circumstances that the action was committed. Badalov also stated, that violation of these principles should be condemned more strictly and be qualified as violation of this or that provision of Criminal Code, as only banning on such actions will allow the society not to fall into widespread wilderness and evilness. Badalov also assured that Safarov’s story and Azerbaijan’s unbalanced and sometimes senseless actions (Professor said these are the mildest words, which can be used in this case), caused huge offense to our country’s authority. According to him, by this step Azerbaijan repelled NKR conflict solution problem and great efforts will be needed to both sides to get back from force rhetoric: “I’m talking not about military actions (I don’t predict this) but terrorist acts. Great efforts will be demanded from our people having sound judgment, especially from intellectuals not to gain the fame of moral outcasts.”
