“168 hours”: NKR itself should decide to join or to be independent

“I think by this we go far from the main problem, as now the most important for Armenia is unity of all the parties and development of a single point of view on the issue of national importance. The main guilty today is Azerbaijan, not Armenia. What is the most interesting, NKR posts are stronger now, which is not due to the steps taken by Armenia, but as a result of Azerbaijan’s actions,” Regional Research Center director Richard Kirakosyan told the daily newspaper talking on possibility of NKR recognition by Armenia after Safarov’s extradition.
“Nagoron-Karabakh should decide itself, whether it wants to join to be independent, that is to say, it didn’t express any clear idea on this. At the same time an answer was given to the question, that no one believes now that NKR can ever be a part of Azerbaijan,” said he, adding that Armenia is on more powerful positions, than Azerbaijan on the crisis created around Safarov’s case.
