“Hraparak”: Styopa Safaryan is sure to win

After the resignation of Ruben Hayrapetyan, “elected” as MP at No. 1 electoral district by the majoritarian, elections are to be declared at the same district. Former “Heritage” candidate Stepan Safaryan is going to be nominated here.
"Anyway, the May 6 elections proved that I have a very high chances of winning, taking into account at how complex district I was nominated and who was my opponent, besides, he was a local authority and enjoyed the support of state agencies. And besides that, unfortunately, the opposition had nominated a candidate by self-nomination. The votes, that I received even in those conditions, proof my victory, and this time as well, I’m sure, that my chances to win are pretty high,” Safaryan told “Hraparak”.
The newspaper notes, that the “Heritage” representative had received more than 9 thousand votes. Hmayak Hovhannisyan, the president of Politician Union has also decided to be nominated in this district. He couldn’t decide for a long time whether to be nominated as Gyumri Mayor candidate in Balasanyan’s district, or in Avan.
Yesterday he said in the interview with the newspaper, that he has decided to be nominated at No.1 electoral district. He doesn’t expect the support of any authority. “I hope on people,” concluded the politician, who has been a PAP member for a few months. “Hraparak” reminds, that journalist Artak Yeghiazaryan, who is an Avan resident, also has the intention to be nominated.
