Armenia and NKR Presidents attend opening of school in Shushi

Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) President Bako Sahakyan, together with Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan, on September 8 attended the official reopening of Khachatur Abovyan School in NKR’s Shushi city. The school was completely renovated by the co-financing of NKR Government and “Hayastan” All-Armenian Fund.
President Sahakyan considered education as a strategically important domain for NKR, stated that education is always at the focus of the country’s authorities, and added that the existence of such educational establishment in Shushi will also greatly contribute to boosting the city’s steady development.
Subsequently, the heads of the two Armenian states toured some construction sites in Shushi and got familiar with the ongoing activities. NKR Premier Ara Harutyunyan, National Security Secretary of Armenia Arthur Baghdasaryan, “Hayastan” All-Armenian Fund Executive Director Ara Vardanyan, and other officials likewise were on hand at these events.
