Oland intends to make his promise on Armenian Genocide

President of France Francois Oland responded to French citizen Arman Mkhitaryan’s letter, which posed a question to the country leader on presenting a new bill on criminalizing Armenian Genocide denial, Azatutyun radio station informs.
The letter sent by head of France’s President’s Office on September 4 reads: “Francois Oland intends to make his commitment on the bill criminalizing Armenian Genocide denial, which he assumed at his campaign and recently reminded about this to the Armenian community in France.
As it’s known, the Constitutional Council found, that it opposes Constitution. Thus, it’s important to find a solution which will coordinate corresponding duty and Republic laws, that it didn’t undergo criticism by the above mentioned institution. The Government has undertaken that work.”
