At "Zvartnots" airport of Yerevan, the dense crowd met the Armenian national chess team with great enthusiasm, which arrived in Yerevan from Turkish city of Istanbul, carrying the status of World Chess Olympiad Champion. President Serzh Sargsyan’s official airplane moved them from Istanbul to Armenia.
RA president Serzh Sargsyan personally met them on the runway and congratulated the champions- Levon Aronian, Sergei Movsessian, Vladimir Akopian, Gabriel Sargissian, Tigran L. Petrosian, coach Arshak Petrosian, as well as the women’s Armenian national team, which achieved the 6th place. Armenia's national anthem played.
At this point, the feast is being continued on the “Liberty” square, where went the champions from the airport.
