The secret document published by Hungary’s foreign affairs institute, was spread by nol.hu website on Friday, which shows that Hungary’s state agencies have been misinformed by Azerbaijan on case of Azerbaijani officer, which killed Armenia’s officer in Hungary 8 years ago, Politics.hu reports.
Director of the Hungarian Institute of International Relations Botond Zakoni said, that release of document analyzing diplomatic situation was a “misfortune” adding, that the Institute frequently spreads such reports on issues on Hungary’s diplomacy.
According to nol.hu Hungary’s PM Viktor Orban met Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev to discuss extradition of the convict. The President promised the PM, that Ramil Safarov will continue serving his sentence in hometown.
But as soon as he entered hometown, Safarov was granted pardon and released. Two days later Hungary condemned the release of the criminal by “a diplomatic note”, but Armenia suspended diplomatic relations with Hungary.
The report reads that relations between Armenia and Hungary will freeze for some time, but later due to great efforts they can restore.
