Serzh Sargsyan and Wilfred Martens hold a telephone conversation on Safarov’s extradition

Today, President Serzh Sargsyan held a telephone conversation with the Chairman of the European Peoples Party (EPP) Wilfred Martens. The call was initiated by Mr. Martens. The President of Armenia and Chairman of the EPP spoke about the secret transfer by the Hungarian authorities of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces’ officer Ramil Safarov, who in Budapest in 2004 at the grounds of ethnic hatred had viciously murdered the officer of the RA Armed Forces Gurgen Margarian, and discussed the ensuing situation, spoke about regional developments and challenges.
The parties discussed also the upcoming session of the EPP in the capital of Romania Bucharest and issues related to the EPP regional summit to be held at the end of this year in Yerevan.
