Co-Chairmen’s approach is consistent with our approach: Nalbandyan on RNK issue

During the government Q & A "Heritage" faction leader Ruben Hakobyan asked RA MFA Edward Nalbandyan: "Don’t you think it's time for RA to make an official request to the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing countries to recognize the independence of Nagorno-Karabakh and, in general, to conduct a total work in that direction.” Referring to that, Edward Nalbandian said that the definite response of the international community and the recent favorable conditions for the Republic of Armenia are result of steps, initiated by Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as the policy of MFA: "We must continue to pursue the policy that is comprehensible to the international community." Nalbandyan highlighted the fact that in these conditions we should not initiate steps that will make us “lose the carpet from beneath our feet. Therefore, we should maintain the policy, which we’ve conducted up to now very carefully and precisely.” "As to the RNK conflict, we say that our position is consistent with the approach of the Co-Chairmen, but moreover, Co-Chairmen’s approach is consistent with our approach," said the Foreign Minister, adding that the aim of RNK negotiations is, finally, the recognition of RNK independence.
