British TV company refuses screening of the film on Islam

British Channel 4 TV station refused public screening of a documentary titled "Islam: The Untold Story”, after its author historian Tom Holland was threatened, The Daily Telegraph reports.
In his documentary film Holland tells about the lack of written evidence on the existence of the founder of Islam, Prophet Muhammad.
After the screening of the film Channel 4 TV station has received more than 1,000 complaints, and the Academy of Islamic Research and Education accused the author of unfounded assumptions. Iranian media considered the film offensive for Muslims. In response to the accusations made against him, Holland stated that his studies in the field Islam are founded.
Besides complaints Holland also received numerous threats, via Internet. After consultation with Security Service the leadership of the TV station has decided to stop screening the film, which was scheduled for September 13.
