Do NSS figures correspond to reality? Vardan Oskanyan
Economy
Today, on September 12, Vardan Oskanyan has addressed a question to the government, in regard with the statistical figures on economic activity, being published by the National Statistical Service. He said the numbers are encouraging, but there are doubts as to the extent they are true. His question was made in the following way: "Poverty is not decreasing, the budget is not growing, then how to explain this macroeconomic imbalance."
RA Minister of Finance Vache Gabrielyan, said in his turn that the world’s economy is in recovery, but it happens without creating jobs. In the least, jobs are created in Armenia, but in a small scale.
When asked how much will the budget income increase, if the economic growth amounts to 5.5% compared to the foreseen 4.2% (taking into account that tax revenue growth is expected to be 101 billion drams), RA Finance Minister has responded by saying that the deviation of nominal GDP of 2012 will not be greater than the nominal GDP of 2011, and therefore large fluctuations of budget revenue collection are not expected.
