Bill Gates on the pandemic and the climate catastrophe. Interview on TVN24 GO (Video)
VideoBill Gates would like people to switch from gasoline cars to electric cars on their way to reducing greenhouse gas emissions altogether. – They are quieter, do not cause local pollution, and their day-to-day maintenance is much simpler – noted the co-founder of Microsoft and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in an interview with Piotr Kraśka (TVN24) and Dorota Wysocka-Schnepf (“Gazeta Wyborcza”). The interview is available on TVN24 GO.
Co-founder of Microsoft and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, philanthropist Bill Gates in 2015 warned the world against the possibility of a global pandemic. Today – including in his latest book “How to save the world from a climate catastrophe. Solutions we already have, the changes we need” – he warns that if we do not achieve zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, the world will face a climatic catastrophe.
– I insist on spending on research and technology development, I start new companies with new ideas and I try to involve the entire private sector. Electric cars are better not only because they do not emit greenhouse gases: they are quieter, they do not cause local pollution and their day-to-day maintenance is much simpler, said Bill Gates. – With this type of solutions, we have a chance for a better world as a whole. However, we will have to invest a lot to move from where we are now to this greener world, ‘he added.
