Kocharyan shouldn’t have lowered presidential status to that level: Aram Karapetyan
Political
Lurer.com-'s interviewee is the leader of “New Times” party Aram Karapetyan:
-Mr. Karapetyan, recently RA 2nd President has begun to respond to the events happening in Armenia, ex., the statement of Safarov’s extradition, the response to Ruben Hayrapetyan’s interview. By what is conditioned such activity?
- I would not like to comment on it. In regard with this issue I can say only one thing, that there are cases when it’s better for the person called 2nd president not to respond at all than respond on that level. In particular, the last part of Ruben Hayrapetyan’s interview. I think that the person having a status of president, even not-elected, but having somehow acquired it, should express himself in another way. A person can be of various styles, but to take the status of president and put it down? Tomorrow someone may curse: the person who has been a president should curse back?
-And how possible do you consider the rumors of Robert Kocharyan’s nomination in the presidential elections as a PAP candidate?
-I will tell you my view of the general political framework. I think every force, that will eventually connect itself with those three presidents, will get into very serious condition in terms of politics. It will be now, a year later, after a month, but anyway it will be so. The times of these 3 presidents are over. They should leave the field, quit and clear the way for new people. Now they willingly don’t want it, it’s clear.
There is a problem of times, and the time of “Andropov” politicians is up.
- Does your decision of being nominated in the Presidential elections remain unchanged?
- Yes, it is a final, unchangeable, and is not subject to any appeal. The only problem is my registeration.
-What problems do you have with registration?
-You know, I always have that problems with the authorities: Authorities change, but the problem remains. I’m told that I haven’t lived in Armenia for 10 years, when I have been a presidential candidate in the elections of 2003 and the calculation shows, that in 2013 it’ll be 10 years.
-And what do you plan to do?
-Despite all those hardships, I think, that I’ll finally be registered. If not, I have my plan which I won’t share with journalists.
Note, that a few days ago Viktor Soghomonyan, that head of RA ex-president Robert Kocharyan’s office, referring to Ruben Hayrapetyan’s interview in French “Nouvelles d’Armenie” magazine, had said, that nowadays NA MP Ruben Hayrapetyan “is not being poked only by his partisans and the lazies”.
