Armenia should go for complete digitalization until 2015: Gagik Beglaryan

The 26th session of the committee dealing with the international cooperation of Regional Commonwealth in the field of Communications (RCC) took place in Yerevan on Sepember 17-18, and was attended by RA Minister of Transport and Communications Gagik Beglaryan, Secretary General of International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Hamadoun Touré.
The session was also attended by the representatives of the Executive Committee of Regional Commonwealth in the field of Communication of Armenia, Russia, Belarus, the Ukraine and Kirgizia.
RA Minister of Transport and Communications Gagik Beglaryan has greeted the participants of the 26th session of International Cooperation of Regional Commonwealth in the field of Communication on the behalf of RA government. "We are pleased by the decision of the organizing the committee session in Yerevan and I thank you for visiting Armenia. RA government attaches great importance to the Regional Commonwealth in the field of Communication,” said the Minister. He has stressed that the role of Regional Commonwealth in the field of Communication increases significantly every year in the international arena. Very important events are planned for the future two of which are the World Assembly of the standardization of electronic connection and the World Congress of International Electric connection, that will be held in Dubai, from November 20-29, and from December 3-14 of 2012. In this concern Gagik Beglaryan has attached importance to the session’s work in developing united and effective decisions.
In the interview with journalists, Hamadoun Touré, the Secretary General of ITU, has mentioned, that the internet is having a great development in Armenia, and the country’s geographical position has a great contribution to it. According to him, the ITU highly values Armenia’s progress in this sphere. We’ve discussed large scopes of cooperation with RA President Serzh Sargsyan and Communication Minister Gagik Beglaryan, and the digitalization of analog technology is among those. He has emphasized, that ITU has a long and effective history of cooperation with Armenia.
Gagik Beglaryan has assured the journalists, that Armenia will continue its cooperation with ITU in various fields. “We’ve obtained an agreement with Hamadoun Touré that the Armenian youth are to leave for business trips in order to erase the flaws in the field of digitalization. This is very important for RA ministry of transport and Communication, since Armenia has to go for complete digitalization until 2015,” said the Minister.
Within the frames of the international cooperation of RCC, the representatives of participant countries have developed and coordinated profitable joint positions for CIS member-states, which are jointly submitted to the discussion of World Assemblies and Congresses organized within the frames of ITU.
