Armenia judiciary to have 10 more judges
PoliticalAt Thursday's Cabinet session, the interim government of Armenia approved the Supreme Judicial Council's proposal to increase the number of judges of the Administrative Court of Appeal by three, the number of judges of the Civil Court of Appeal—by three, and the number of judges of the Bankruptcy Court—by four.
The matter was presented by the acting Minister of Justice, Rustam Badasyan. He noted that this decision is conditioned by the fact that the citizens' right to a fair and public hearing of their cases within a reasonable time by an independent and impartial court must be ensured, whereas the overload of Armenia’s courts is one of the main obstacles to exercise the right of court examination within a reasonable time.
