EP President: recognition of Armenian Genocide as a condition for Turkey to enter EU

President of European Parliament Martin Schulz announced that Turkey’s integration in EU is conditioned with recognition of Armenian Genocide, Regnum reports making reference to Asbarez newspaper.
EP President appeared with such a statement in a meeting with Turkish State Minister Egemen Baghish on European integration issues. During the press conference which followed it, Baghish refused to answer questions on that topic.
“Turkey has to recognize Armenian Genocide: This should be observed a condition for Turkey to enter EU. At last Turkey should look to the face of its history,” Schulz announced.
