12-year-old girl raped in Berdavan

As Aravot.am reports, a 12-year-old girl has been raped in Berdavan village of Tavush on August 30. The culprit of the rape is a 24-year-old young man, who temporarily lived in Berdavan.Concerning the incident a criminal case is initiated according to the 3rd paragraph of Article 138 of RA Criminal Code. On September 1, the first instance court of Tavush region has upheld the mediation of the pre-investigative body to arrest the suspend of the rape for 2 months.
“Aravot” reporter has been informed from Tavush regional Prosecutor’s Office, that the appointed forensic expertise has confirmed the hymen break of the infant girl. Note, that the uncle of the culprit has once been convicted for rape, too. The 24-year-old young man is married and has 2 children.
