Science and culture
French Ambassador to Armenia Henri Reynaud introduced to Education and Science Minister Armen Ashotyan the French University in Armenia’s newly appointed Rector Jean-Jacques Montois and the Ambassador’s cultural adviser Jean-Michel Kasbarian.
Ashotyan presented the work priorities to the university’s new rector, Education and Science Ministry press service informs.
“Our requirements and expectations [from the University] are more ambitious, and they assume new prospects for development. I believe the University needs to increase its scientific research component. We expect for the French University to become a center for French culture in the region and, at the same time, contribute to the improvement of higher education in our country,” the Minister stressed in particular.
He emphasized that Armenia’s Education and Science Ministry also underscores that the French University should function as an independent public university.
In his turn, Rector Jean-Jacques Montois noted that he stands ready to organize the work activities within the parameters of the introduced priorities and contribute to the development of European education in Armenia.
