Armenian athletes made a poor showing at the Weightlifting Youth World Championships held in Kosice, Slovakia.
In the category of 56 kilogram Aram Hambartsumyan was only seventh lifting 206 kg (93+113). China’s Hao Jiang lifted 260 kg (115+145) to win gold.
In the category of 69 kg Vardan Militosyan appeared in the fifth spot with a result of 291 kg (130+161). Karrar Mohammed Jawad Mohammed Kadhum from Iraq won gold lifting 311 kg (143+168).
