Main fight between RPA and PAP

On September 23 local self-government elections will be held in 318 communities of Armenia’s five regions: Aragatsotn, Kotayk, Gegharkunik, Vayots Dzor and Tavush.
699 candidates have been nominated for head of community elections. 177 of 699 announced self-rejection, now there are 521 of them.
In elections of member of the council of elders 2730 candidates have been nominated. 103 announces self-rejection, and now there are 2626 candidates for member of the council of elders.
535 precincts will function in five regions. 15 local organizations and 20 international observers will realize observation mission.
1702 from registered candidates is non-partisan, 176 – member of council of elders candidate, and 1527 head of community candidate. “New way” party nominated one candidate. Heritage party nominated 5 candidates, one for head of community position, and 4 for a member of the council of elders. RPA nominated 856 candidates: 241 – for head of community, 612 – for member of the council of elders. Armenian Democratic party nominated one candidate for each position. NSU nominated one candidate for head of community. Law of Order party has 47 candidates, 6 – for head of community, 41 – for member of the council of elders. Communist Party has 4 candidates, two candidates for each position. ARF nominated 5 candidates, one for head of community elections, 4 for member of the council of elders.
National Unity Party nominated 2 candidates for member of the council of elders, and Union of Constitutional Rights party has one candidate for member of the council of elders. 86 will take part from ARF, 21 – for head of community elections, and 65 for member of the council of elders elections. Powerful Homeland party nominated 3 candidates for the member of the council of elders. SDHP has one candidate nominated for member of the council of elders. PAP has 424 candidates, 69 – for head of community, 355 – for member of the council of elders.
“Democracy and work” party nominated 5 candidates, 2 for head of community elections and 3 for member of the council of elders. United Liberal party nominates one candidate for member of the council of elders, ADL – 3 candidates for member of the council of elders.
Voting will take place from 08.00 am- 08.00 pm. Preliminary data of local self-government elections will be summarized and registered until September 24, 02.00 pm. Final data will be realized until September 28.
