Horror at Kew Gardens: Woman, 30, killed by falling tree branch as Britain is battered by 60mph gales

A woman was killed when a tree branch fell on her as she walked through Kew Gardens in yesterday’s downpour, the Daily Mail reports.
A witness said he heard a sound ‘like three or four gunshots’. When he turned round he saw the 30-year-old woman lying face down with the ‘extremely large’ branch smashed beside her.
The tragedy came as wintry weather arrived across the country and forecasters warned of more grim conditions today, with gales and almost three inches of rain predicted for some areas.
The young woman, believed to be a New Zealander who had been living in London, died yesterday afternoon.
