Catholicos of all Armenians receives intellectuals and chief editors

The Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II on Sunday received a delegation comprising Egyptian intellectuals and newspaper chief editors, who were accompanied by Armenian National Committee of Egypt representative Armen Mazloumian.
Mazloumian presented to the Catholicos the objective of the delegation’s visit to Armenia, whereby Egypt’s intelligentsia wish to get closely familiar with Armenian culture and national and spiritual values, Information Center of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin reports.
Karekin II briefed the guests on the meaning and history of the Mother See, and informed that the Armenian Church has conducted a great mission of preserving national identity throughout Armenian history and it often assumed political leadership of the nation as well.
The Catholicos also welcomed such mutual visits, and underscored the role played by Egypt’s Armenian community and stressed that it contributes to the country’s development and progress.
Subsequently, Karekin II responded to the Egyptian intellectuals’ queries on numerous matters.
