Former head of Construction Policy Department arrested

The former head of Construction Policy Department Gor Kamalyan has been arrested on September 28 concerning the criminal case, initiated in regard with the incidents of the embezzlement of property during the reconstruction works of National Library of Armenia, abuse of official authority and abuse of authority by a state and merchant organization official.
He is suspected of abuse of official authority according to the 2nd part of Article 308 of RA Criminal code.
Note, that a criminal case had been initiated at the Department of Defense of State Interests of RA Prosecutor General’s Office on September 25 in regard with the incidents of the embezzlement of property during the reconstruction works of National Library of Armenia, abuse of official authority and abuse of authority by a state and merchant organization official.
The investigation of the criminal case had been assigned to the Police General Investigation Department of RA government,
Notification: The suspect or the accused of the crime shall be presumed innocent until he is proved guilty according to the established regularities of Criminal Procedure Code, by the legal verdict of the court.
