Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. has increased the price of its vehicles by 2,400 rupees ($45.80) to 5,250 rupees, mainly because of a rise in raw-material costs, a top executive said Wednesday.
The new prices are effective Wednesday, said Mayank Pareek, chief operating officer for marketing and sales, the Wall Street Journal reports.
The new prices are about 1% higher, said a Maruti executive.
The Suzuki Motor Corp. unit is India's largest car maker by sales.
