Military draft kicked off

Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan on Friday signed a decree with respect to conducting the 2012 fall military draft and discharge.
Pursuant to the decree, a compulsory military or alternative service draft will be conducted—between the months of October and December—for those male citizens of Armenia who turn eighteen years of age before the day of the draft, and for those citizens who have lost their military-draft-postponement right.
Also, it was decided to discharge—between the aforesaid months—those military servicemen who have served the compulsory military service within the specified period, the President’s Press Office informs.
