Bako Sahakyan signs decree on fall draft

President of the Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) Republic Bako Sahakyan signed on Monday a decree on the 2012 fall military draft.

According to a press release by the NKR leader’s office, legal measure applies to all the male citizens who will have turned 18 before the start of the conscription, as well as to those whose deferment period will have expired by the specified date.

Under the decree, the draft period will last start in October and finish in December 2012. The Nagorno-Karabakh government has been asked to adopt an enforcing legal act within a two-week period.
