I do not want Armenian nation to turn its back to Hungary: Serzh Sargsyan

Recently, RA President Serzh Sargsya gave an interview to the Hungarian TV channel ATV, which was published on the latter’s official website (atv.hu). The main topic was the situation between the two countries as a result of recent events. "Needless to say, we closely follow and are going to follow the events in Hungary and we certainly know that the Hungarian people are against this decision. This means that this decision is considered wrong within Hungary. It is painful that the Hungarian government caused tension in the region with its decision. I say this with a great regret, because the relations between our countries are centuries old, stated RA president. Speaking of Safarov’s extradition, RA President particularly said: “We consider it a very bad decision… very suspicious.” President Sargsyan believes that: “Azeri policy gives a very little chance to the RNK peace to last longer but Armenia makes all the efforts in this respect. RA citizens know, that if Azerbaijan initiates military attack against RNK, then the entire Armenian potential will be invested to ensure the protection of RNK citizens.” Serzh Sargsyan also stressed that the Hungarian government was well aware of the consequences of the decision in the case, when Armenian high-ranking officials have claimed for months that Ramil Safarov’s extradition mustn’t occur. RA President concluded his speech with the following words: “ I do not want Armenian nation to turn its back to Hungary the way the Hungarian government did to our country.”
