Azerbaijan imprisoned 22 "Iranian spies"

Azerbaijan convicted another group of citizens, who they accuse of cooperating with in another group of citizens who are accused of collaborating with Iranian intelligence Agencies, “Kavkazki uzel” reports. The convicted have been sentenced to various terms of imprisonment.
22 citizens are involved in the case (all citizens of Azerbaijan). The periodical reports that half of them are residents of Nardaran settlement which is on a few km from Baku, and is known with its conservative, religious traditions.
The accused were arrested in the beginning of 2012. According to the authorities, the citizens have been in contact with Iranian intelligence Agencies and planned terrorist operations against foreign diplomatic missions.
The court recognized them guilty of state treachery and convicted from 3 to 13 years of imprisonment.
