GeoProMining expands cooperation between Armenian and Russian universities

The GeoProMining group of companies expands cooperation with the St. Petersburg Mining University named after Plekhanov. In addition to sending Armenian students to study at the university, the “Additional Qualification” program was launched this year to improve the skills of the company's employees.

In addition, the parties agreed to deepen cooperation in terms of participation of St Petersburg University in the implementation of the program for the development of targeted education presented by the Company at the Kapan branch of the National Polytechnic University of Armenia, and later at the Department of Mining and Mineral Processing of the NPUA with the introduction of their experience, educational plans and technical standards. In the near future, a competent joint working group will be created, which will start working on the project.

“As part of a recent meeting with partners in St. Petersburg, we noted our joint successful experience of working for 10 years under the “Scholarship Project” program, under which students from Armenia, by our guidance and social assistance receive free education at the St. Petersburg Technical University and subsequently get a job at our assets. In addition, a new project "Additional Qualification" for professional training of engineering and technical staff has been launched this year.

Armenia is rich in mining recourses, and the foundation of the industry is laid in educational processes. Our task is to bring the Department of Mining and Metallurgy of the National Polytechnic University of Armenia to the international level,” said GeoProMining representative Ruzanna Grigoryan.

St. Petersburg Mining University is one of the largest mining universities and the first higher technical educational institution in Russia. The university trains specialists for all sectors of the mining and metallurgical, oil and gas complex, geological survey, industrial engineering. The university has 16.5 thousand students in 97 areas and specialties at 9 departments.
