Tigran Sargsyan: $140 million unproductive expenditure at the Ministry of Health

This time, the PM Tigran Sargsyan is in the Ministry of Health, in the meeting convened by him. The meeting was attended by the responsible bodies of the field. The studies conducted by PM’s Control Service revealed facts, according to which purchases of 84 million 200 thousand AMD and unproductive expenditure of 140 million AMD have been done and this concerns only to 2 types of medicines.
In 2009 MoH acquired “Xeloda” type medication in a centralized order, which has a wide application the field of oncology. In 2009 the Ministry carried out 4 purchases of the mentioned medication, and in fact, the purchase price per tablet amounted to 2670 AMD in June, and 1875 AMD in September, November and December.
It was also revealed, that the medicine acquired by the Ministry of Health in a centralized order was more expensive than the one acquired directly by the hospital.
In some cases, the state funds have been used for groundless purchases instead of the necessary ones.
The Prime Minister expressed his dissatisfaction, and Health Minister D. Dumanyan has promised to establish order in his field.
