Alliances Françaises school opens in Yerevan

The Alliances Françaises foundation has opened a school in Yerevan.Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan and French Ambassador to Armenia Henri Reynaud held the opening ceremony.Following the ceremony, Armenia’s premier noted that the new school will bring new blood into the Alliances Françaises foundation’s 10-year-long activities in Armenia. “We are interested in cooperating with the Alliances Françaises foundation. I am sure that it can serve as a means of promoting Armenia’s integration with Europe,” the premier said.
Ambassador Henri Reynaud noted that the newly opened Alliances Françaises education and cultural institution will represent France in Armenia.The Alliances Françaises foundation aims at spreading French language and culture throughout the world and developing national cultures and art in the host countries.The school has the best conditions for launching its activities in Armenia now. It is more than a school – it is a venue for contacts and dialogue. It is a center of French culture in Yerevan for all those interested in France, Ambassador Henri Reynaud said.
Jean-Claude Jacq, Secretary General, Alliances Françaises foundation, who attended the ceremony, said that the foundation has 850 centers throughout the world.School Director Syuzan Ghazaryan said that French language courses are available to everyone. After attending the courses, the students will receive certificates that are in force throughout the world – for both for employers and higher schools.The Alliances Françaises foundation launched its activities in Armenia in 2003.
