International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS) organized will hold the annual user vote for the world’s most popular footballer. Armenia and FC Shakhtar midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan will one of the candidates from Europe.

IFFHS members from the individual continents will each propose candidates from their continent.

The IFFHS Users will vote for the most popular footballer of the individual continents between 15th October 2012 and 30th November 2012.

Each of the five-placed players from Africa, Asia and the CONCACAF area as well as the each of the eight first-placed players from Europe and South America - and the first-placed player from Oceania - will be the candidates for world vote. The IFFHS User vote of these 32 candidates between the 1st December 2012 and 3rd January 2013 who will be the world's most popular footballer for the year 2012.
