Political
Today news was spread, that PAP head Gagik Tsarukyan in a meeting with high-ranking officials of the party excluded, that PAP can nominate Vartan Oskanian in the coming presidential elections. To clarify the news, Lurer.com contacted Gagik Tsarukyan’s press speaker Iveta Tontoyan. To the question whether the news corresponds to reality, Iveta Tonoyan replied: “Gagik Tsarukyan didn’t make any statement connected with presidential elections,” Tonoyan noted.
To the reporter’s observation, that the speech is not about making a statement, but only talks at the meeting, Tsarukyan’s speaker said:
“Gagik Tsarukyan periodically meets members of parliamentary alliances and of the board and that would be very strange, if there weren’t likewise meetings. As for Vartan Oskanian’s nomination, the news doesn’t correspond to the reality,” Tonoyan said.
To the question, whether Gagik Tsarukyan only views his candidacy in the coming presidential elections, Iveta Tonoyan replied, that the news doesn’t correspond to the reality.
Note, according to reliable sources, Tsarukyan said, if PAP nominates a candidate for the president, it could be only him and he won’t support any candidate.
Thus, earlier Vartan Oskanian’s statement, that in case if Gagik Tsarukyan won’t be nominated from PAP for the coming presidential elections, he’s ready to be a candidate, is still valid.
