NATO to continue cooperation with Georgia

The NATO special representative for the South Caucasus and Central Asia has promised to continue the alliance’s cooperation with Georgia’s new government.
Newsgeorgia.ru has quoted James Apaturay as telling reporters at the Tbilisi airport that the alliance will remain committed to the Bucharest Summit decisions calling for Georgia’s full membership. Apaturay also promised that they will keep supporting Goergia’s territorial integrity.
The NATO official said Georgia is now facing a historic moment, adding that the recent parliamentary election demonstrated the country’s ability to pass the test of democracy in a successful manner.
In the course of his visit to Tbilisi, Apaturay is set to meet with the Georgian Dream leader, Bidzina Ivanishvili, and the future members of cabinet.
