Territorial administration, infrastructure minister: Armenia plans to increase natural gas import from Iran
IranWe now import 365 million cubic meters of [natural] gas from Iran annually, and return electricity to Iran at a ratio of one to three. Gnel Sanosyan, Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia, told this to reporters during the conference titled "The Present and Future of Armenia's Energy Sector" on Tuesday, and added that they recently extended the respective contract until 2030.
"With this contract, there is a chance to increase the import of [natural] gas from Iran to Armenia; I believe it will be so in the coming years. The existing [natural] gas pipeline [between Armenia and Iran] is not being used at its full capacity," added the minister.
