Armenian ambassador to the United States, Lilit Makunts, on Tuesday met with US Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-Rhode Island). 

The ambassador thanked the senator for spearheading and co-sponsoring letters and legislative initiatives on the matters of importance to Armenia. 

Regional security, the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan, humanitarian assistance to Armenians forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh, and Armenia-US bilateral cooperation were discussed in the course of the meeting.
