Newspaper: Armenia PM to attend CIS, EAEU meetings?
PoliticalHraparak daily of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes as follows: Our CC [i.e. the ruling Civil Contract Party] sources assure us that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will participate in the session of the EAEU [(Eurasian Economic Union)] Economic Council and the council of CIS [(Commonwealth of Independent States)] leaders to be held in Saint Petersburg on December 25, 26.
As is known, for a long time, official Yerevan has been ostentatiously boycotting Russian platforms: neither the RA foreign minister, nor the SC [(Security Council)] secretary, nor the NA [(National Assembly)] president, and even more so, the prime minister, do not participate in the political gatherings taking place under the auspices of Russia. They have decided to preserve only economic participation and ties.
At the political meeting of the [CC] party held in Gyumri on Saturday, however, Pashinyan and [FM] Ararat Mirzoyan complained that the West does not appreciate their steps properly, so it is time to switch to a soft policy with the RF [(Russian Federation)]. With that, he [i.e. Pashinyan] made it clear about his participation in the upcoming [EAEU and CIS] events.
