Erdogan: Turkey has resolved its differences with some regional countries
TurkeyTurkey's foreign policy is focused on Turkey, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Tuesday, Anadolu Agency reported.
"We have formed our foreign policy, which is oriented towards Turkey, but with a global perspective, and there is no turning back," Erdogan said in his address in Ankara.
According to him, Turkey "did not pay attention to the warmongers who tried to drag the country into bloody conflicts both in the north and in the south."
"Despite the intervention of third parties to the contrary, we have worked to strengthen relations with our neighbors—based on a mutually beneficial approach," he said.
"We have resolved the differences between us and some countries in the region and brought our cooperation back to the level it should have been... Having reached historic heights in our relations with the Turkic world, we have also worked to develop cooperation with Europe and the United States—based on mutual respect," he said.
"We have never rejected the hand of friendship extended to our country," the Turkish president added. "Turkey will continue to make new friends."
