Argument in Yerevan ends in murder, young man detained
Emergency Case
A dispute over "looking at each other for a long time" ended in murder in Yerevan, informs the Investigative Committee of Armenia.
At 11:23pm on December 26, 2023, a call was received from a Yerevan hospital that a local resident born in 1974 was brought to them in an unconsciousness state and with a cut-perforated wound in the right groin area and profuse bleeding, who had died without regaining consciousness at 11:50pm.
The criminal investigation into this incident found out that the murder suspect is a 20-year-old Yerevan resident.
The investigation found out as well that on the same day at around 10:30pm, the aforesaid young man, his brother, and a group of other people had gotten into an argument with two brothers from Yerevan on a street of the city—over the matter of “looking at each other for a long time.”
Then, the 20-year-old man stabbed the right groin area of the two brothers’ 49-year-old father who had intervened in the dispute, causing him a fatal bodily injury.
This young man was charged and detained as a preventive measure.
The criminal investigation is ongoing.
