Edgar Sevikyan: Dejan Stankovic is a legend, he can teach me a lot
VideoEdgar Sevikyan, the 22-year-old midfielder of the Armenian national football team, commented on his transfer from Russia’s Pari Nizhny Novgorod to Hungary’s Ferencvaros, whose manager is Dejan Stankovic, a former player of the Serbian national squad, Lazio, and Inter Milan.
"I learned about Ferencvaros a few years ago when the team was playing in the [UEFA] Champions League. I knew this team, and when we first learned about their interest, we considered it a very interesting option.
“I just want to develop, learn at the international level, achieve victories and good results. I know that the club fights for the championship every year, it has many titles.
“I have heard about the fans of the club that they support [the club] very actively, which is an important positive emotional factor: the constant support of the fans.
“The head coach of the team, Dejan Stankovic, is a legend. I watched his game when he was a footballer, he was achieving results. He can teach me a lot.
“I really like to dribble [the ball], play at speed, make assists, score goals. I will try to prove in every match that I can help the team," Sevikyan told Ferencvaros’ YouTube channel.
Edgar Sevikyan's contract with Ferencvaros is expected to run until 2028.
Pari Nizhny Novgorod has received 1.2 million euros from the transfer of this Armenian footballer. And this Russian club will receive 7 percent of his next transfer fee.
