Bill on vocational education reforms in Armenia will have revolutionary significance, minister says
Armenian PressThe bill on legislative reforms in vocational education in Armenia will have a revolutionary significance for the sector. This was stated by the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia, Zhanna Andreasyan, during Wednesday’s hearing at the National Assembly on the aforesaid reforms.
According to her, the aforementioned bill will eliminate in the current law on education the difference between two types of vocational education institutions in Armenia: colleges and learning institutions. And only colleges will remain in the vocational education system.
The most important respective change, as per the minister, will be the institutionalization of work-based learning in Armenia.
"Here we sum up as well the experience of dual education, which has been operating in the last five years," explained Andreasyan.
There is a wording in the abovementioned bill, which, according to the minister, will help make the main motto of the education institution become "Work while learning," "Learn by working," or "Work and learn."
As maintained by Andreasyan, this will become the main form of providing secondary vocational education in Armenia.
