The Austrian Space Forum (OeWF) has chosen Armenia as the host country for the simulation of a mission to Mars. The AMADEE24 exercises will be held in March 2024.
As part of the simulation, the international crew will train for a month on a rocky high plateau, which in many ways resembles the plateaus on Mars. This will be the 14th simulation carried out by OeWF, during which technologies are tested in order to send a research mission to Mars in the future," a press release by the Armenian Embassy in Austria reads.
