Azerbaijan prosecutor general announces ‘trial’ of captive Karabakh leadership
RightThe Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan, Kamran Aliyev, has announced the “trial” of the captive leadership of Nagorno-Karabakh. He informed about this at the meeting of the expanded board of the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan.
"The verdict against the separatists will be passed in Azerbaijani courts," Aliyev said.
The several former leaders of Nagorno-Karabakh—namely, ex-Presidents Arkadi Ghukasyan, Bako Sahakyan, and Arayik Harutyunyan, as well as former Minister of State Ruben Vardanyan, Foreign Minister David Babayan, National Assembly Speaker Davit Ishkhanyan, former Defense Minister Levon Mnatsakanyan and former Deputy Defense Minister Davit Manukyan—were captured by Azerbaijanis after the latter’s military aggression of September 19-20, 2023 and subsequent occupation of the entire territory of Nagorno-Karabakh.
