Armenia opposition lawmaker: Today's authorities are going towards abolishing 3rd republic
VideoPrime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and his regime want to turn Armenia into a ruling Civil Contract Party state—without national aspirations, goals, preserving the identity of the Armenian people; this is the formula of these authorities. Artsvik Minasyan, secretary of the opposition "Armenia" Faction of the National Assembly (NA), told this to reporters in the NA Thursday—and speaking about the incumbent authorities initiative to adopt a new constitution of Armenia.
In his conviction, the decision of the Armenian authorities to adopt a new constitution was imposed by Azerbaijan and Turkey, and if the authorities take that step, it will mean that they obey the rules of the game proposed by the enemy.
According to Minasyan, such steps by the authorities will lead to the abolition of the third Republic of Armenia.
"It is terrible to realize that today's authorities are trying to deny the foundations of the statehood of the third Republic of Armenia as well. A state is like a building built on concrete foundations based on the national aspirations, goals, our historical past, rights, specified principles established by the international standard expressed in the Declaration of Independence [of Armenia]. If you change the foundation, it means you are destroying the building; you cannot change the foundation, [but] let the building exist. Today's authorities are going towards abolishing the third republic," said Artsvik Minasyan.
