Syria reported multiple civilian and military deaths as a result of the U.S. attack

Syria claimed numerous civilian and military casualties as a result of the US airstrikes on a number of sites and cities in the eastern part of the country on the border with Iraq, SANA reported.

"The US occupation forces launched on Saturday a blatant air aggression against a number of facilities and cities in Syria's eastern region, near the Iraqi borders, killing many civilians and military personnel, injuring others and causing huge damage to private and public property," the military said in a statement.

The statement also noted that the region targeted by the US attack east of Syria is the same one where the Syrian army is fighting the remnants of the ISIS terrorist organization, "and this confirms that the US is involved and allied in this emergence."
