Alexei Navalny's body has been handed over to his mother, Navalny's spokeswoman Kira Yarmysh said.

Lyudmila Ivanovna is still in Salekhard. The funeral has not been scheduled yet. We don't know if the authorities will intervene to hold them as the family wants and as Alexei deserves. We will let you know as soon as there is news," Yarmysh wrote in her microblog on X.

Earlier, Navalny's mother said she was being forced to agree to her son's secret funeral.

According to her, she was told that if she did not agree to Navalny's secret funeral, "they would do something with his body". "Investigator Varapaev openly told me - time is not working for you, the corpse is decomposing".
