Armenia interior minister: We received query from Russia, responded on same day regarding Azerbaijani murderer
VideoI cannot answer that question until we have performed our functions completely legally. They made a query, we responded, and we were not late. Minister of Internal Affairs Vahe Ghazaryan told this to reporters Monday at National Assembly of Armenia—and when asked how he assesses the fact that Russia handed over the Azerbaijani man, who is accused of murdering an Armenian resident of Nagorno-Karabakh and is under international search, to Baku within a few hours.
"It is a procedure from which we have not deviated. If they catch a criminal, they ask us, and we answer whether he is actually wanted by us or not. We are obligated to respond to the query for all persons for whom an international search has been issued. So are they. We received [the query] on the same day, and we responded immediately," Ghazaryan said.
But the Armenian Minister of Internal Affairs could not respond to the question as to whether the aforesaid Azerbaijani man had already been released at the time when they were sending a response to Russia.
