Azerbaijanis demolish Aznavour monument in Stepanakert
Emergency CaseThe Azerbaijani administration has demolished the monument to Charles Aznavour, erected on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of his birth in 2022 and located next to the Centre Francophone Paul Éluard in Stepanakert. Artsakh State Council for Protection of Cultural Heritage reports.
"The photos below show the monument to Charles Aznavour and the same place in January this month. Previously, monuments to writer Hakob Hakobyan, people's philanthropist Alek Manukyan, public figure Alexander Myasnikyan, Soviet soldiers Admiral Isakov, Anatoly Zinevich, Kristafor Ivanyan and others were dismantled. The monument to the Hero of Artsakh, Ashot Ghulyan, was also dismantled in the park of the same name in Stepanakert. From the materials published on the Internet, we also learn that the graves of those who died in the Artsakh Liberation War are vandalised," the council said.
