Shehbaz Sharif sworn in as new Prime Minister of Pakistan
World PressPML-N leader Shehbaz Sharif has been sworn in as the 24th prime minister of Pakistan, Dawn reports.
Sharif was administered oath by President Arif Alvi at the Aiwan-i-Sadr.
He was elected prime minister after securing 201 votes in the PM elections in the National Assembly on March 3.
On 10 April 2022, Sharif was nominated as candidate for Prime Minister by opposition parties following a vote of no confidence in incumbent Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Previously, he served as the Chief Minister of Punjab three times, making him the longest-serving Chief Minister of the province.
